A Jackson, Tennessee man has been charged with animal cruelty after authorities found an eight-week-old starving puppy tied to a ladder with a six-inch USB wire making it nearly impossible for the animal to move. No food or water was available for the pup, reports the Jackson Sun.

According to court papers, the emaciated puppy was discovered in the yard of a 17-year-old juvenile who lives on Sunny Side Drive. The youth admitted  to owning the puppy, but offered no excuse why the puppy was extremely malnourished or tied to the ladder with a wire that had been cutting into the animal’s neck. Police had to use a wire cutter to free him.

The puppy was seized by animal control. The suspect has been identified as Marcus Sturghill and is being held in jail in lieu of a $5,000 bond.

  1. When will people learn that any type of cruelty is never the answer? I hope this “man” doesn’t get bonded out any time soon he doesn’t need to be out in society right now…

  2. What a big bad 17 yr old, abusing an itty bitty pup. I wish, I wish he would get some serious “adult” time in jail with the REAL BAD BOYS! Karma be swift?
