In an ongoing animal cruelty investigation in Lexington, South Carolina, the Lexington Police Department and the County of Lexington Animal Control have reached out to the public for help in the case of the abuse of a small white dog kicked down a flight of steps.
According to the November 1, Lexington Police Department’s press release, Snap-chat videos were posted on social media almost two weeks ago, showing a man tossing a defenseless puppy down the exterior stairs of the Cedarcrest Village Apartments located in Lexington. The man was also observed kicking the dog several times.
When authorities responded to the apartment address, they were able to locate the dog and his owner. During the investigation the dog was seized, and Animal Control has since been granted temporary custody of the pup where he is being cared for at the County of Lexington Animal Control pending the completion of the investigation and the judge’s decision as where the puppy should be placed.
On October 28, the dog’s owner, Timothy Mister was issued a summons for mistreating an animal and not seeking veterinary care for the dog after he was notified about a pending animal abuse investigation.
Authorities continue to investigate this crime. Anyone with information is asked to call the Lexington Police Department at 803.359.6260 or Crimestoppers at 1.888.CRIME SC.
