A neglected and injured puppy was discovered tied to a fence in a vacant lot in Chicago, Illinois, without food or water. According to the non-profit organization, Peace for Pits, Inc., the pit bull puppy was found by a Chicago Police Officer who took the time to search the area for anyone who might know the apparently abandoned young dog.

On Thursday, the rescue agency stated, “He asked neighbors in the area if they knew who the dog belonged to and was told they hadn’t seen the dog before. The puppy was shaking, and showed signs of neglect.”

The pup, dubbed “Cayden,” was initially taken to Chicago Animal Care and Control where a veterinarian discovered that the puppy had bladder trauma. It is surmised that the puppy may have been kicked in the stomach to suffer the injury that he has.

Peace for Pits stated, “We have pulled him from the shelter and are rushing him to Wheaton Animal Hospital for surgery to save his life. What we need from the community are donations and prayers for this puppy.”

Anyone who would like to help donate towards this injured puppy’s veterinary care can visit this online fundraiser established by the rescue group.

  1. Did the poor little pup have and accident and someone punished him by kicking him? Then just tie him to a fence! Disgusting human beings, Keeping Cayden in our prayers.

  2. This is just messed up. How can anyone do this to a living breathing thing? It just make me lose all faith. I know there is good and evil but some days it seems like there are more evil than good. God bless this little fur baby.
