Missing senior dog, Wally
Spread the love

Everyone knows, or rather everyone should know, that it takes time for a newly adopted dog to acclimate to his or her new surroundings. Sadly, one senior dog in Gardena, California, wasn’t given time to settle in at his new home because the person who adopted him decided to take him back to the same animal control facility just one hour later.

Wally, a nine-year-old pit bull mix, is at the Carson Animal Services facility waiting for an upstanding person to take notice of him – someone who will give him a real chance to fit in. People who had been networking on Wally’s behalf were elated when they learned that he had been adopted this week. Those feelings of joy were squashed when the Facebook page, Saving Carson Shelter Dogs, wrote:

Not safe they returned him in less than an hour because they felt he was too upset about leaving the shelter. Please share he needs help now.

Please help Wally find a loving home (or reputable rescue agency) by sharing his adoption information.

  1. An hour??? WTF??? There are very few dogs who walk into a house and act like they’ve been there forever (I was lucky enough to have that with my first adopted senior). Rescuers often refer to the 3-3-3 of rescue….the dog you bring into your house today will not be the same dog in 3 days, 3 weeks, or 3 months – meaning it takes TIME for dogs to adjust. They have no idea what is expected of them in just 1 hour. Geez. I hope this poor guy can find a REAL home.

    • These losers shouldn’t have ANY pets!!!!!! These are probably the thoughtless, selfish type of people who takes their parent or grandparent and drops them off on the doorstep of the nearest nursing home. RIDICULOUS.

    • Exactly and based on some of the abused dogs I rescued it takes 3 years to overcome the trauma. It is 100 percent worth the effort to watch them bloom and transform!!

  2. Oh my god. Imagine what they would do if they adopted a puppy who would have to ne potty trained and who would go through teethig and nippig.

  3. I sign up to foster, but live in Oregon, after sending my application in. Got a call that nite from a lady from Washington who was in Las Vegas and said there is a dog she has in mind.I would be hearing from them considering a home visit. Told them they could come anytime. Nobody has ever showed up.I am still waiting.Got a voice mail on Nov.12th.There are still killing dogs in California.Still waiting to foster or adopt.

  4. The dog hardly had time to even explore his new environment, What is wrong with humans? Please someone save him, he didn’t deserve this!

  5. So sad for Wally They really didn’t want him anyway if they returned him in one hour. Needs someone who really wanted him. Gave up to easily.

  6. I hope they don’t get another pet of any kind because they are just too stupid and ignorant. They lack basic common sense and compassion.

  7. Per the shelter’s facebook page, Wally was adopted on December 5, but he escaped from his adopter’s car and is now missing in the Compton (LA) area. Please share his photo and story on facebook.

  8. Absolutely would love to slap the shit out of those assholes! They should be blacklisted from ever adopting a animal! Did the staff actually tell these people that it takes time to adjust to there new home? I know when I adopted my year and a half old German Shepard the staff never told me he hated men and would completely bite any man. Had males working there so I know they knew. I wondered when one of the male staff members came out while I was taking him outside he lost his mind barking at him. Drove 2 hours to get him. Had to muzzle him up and slowly let male friends come over and very slowly get used to them. Took a good 6 months to get his behavior issues under control. But have had Shepherds my whole life and have trained all my dogs. My guy was obviously abused by a man. It has been 3 years now and he is a amazing boy! Took a lot of work but every minute was worth it!!! I hope this babys forever family comes to take him home soon!!!! People suck!

  9. Whoever tried to adopt this dog were idiots! If you do not even have one day of patience and unconditional love, you do not deserved to have a pet at all. Having a pet means a forever patience and an unconditional love you give especially considering the trauma he was already in you don’t want to add to his misery, but love and compassion.

  10. SO THIS WAS DECEMBER OF 2016::: What goes on here???? hopefully he found a home BUT now we can all wonder again the very sad day for the USA 9/11/17!!!!
