On July 31, a senior Cocker spaniel was surrendered to the Carson Animal Services facility in Gardena, California. Her family told staff at the facility that they no longer had time for their 10-year-old dog.

The dog, named “Cherry,” is suffering from multiple maladies, including a heart murmur, infected eye, and a mass on her body. The Facebook page, Saving Carson Shelter Dogs, wrote:

CHERRY is so special and she’s still in the medical building needing some help. Please SHARE for her life, she is VERY special and a FOSTER or ADOPTER would save her.

Cherry needs to leave this facility and get much-needed veterinary care. On Thursday morning, the same Facebook page posted dire words indicating the how urgent the situation is at the facility:

There was almost 40 dogs that came in since yesterday and now there are 4 and 5 in the kennels which are completely FULL! The dogs and cats need your help now.

Please take a moment to network Cherry’s adoption information and help her leave this facility and get the help that she needs.

  1. Yes “no time” for the dog is high on my list of good excuses to take your dog and dump them! You had time for 10 years and now it’s too time consuming to treat her multiple “maladies”. How do people live with themselves. Prayers this sweetheart finds her way out into a wonderful home where they will love her.

  2. This whole family needs to be Euthanized!!! After all when it comes time for them to be on Medicare !!! Who wants to take time to TREAT the POS neglectful Scumbags !!! This is how they treated their poor little dog!!! Hope their children remember this and put a leash around each of them and drop them off a homeless shelter when the time comes……
