Just a year-and-a-half of age, Alfred has not had a kind life. Found wandering the streets of Miami in search of scraps of food, Animal Control brought him to Miami-Dade Animal Services where staff veterinarians helped to soothe the gentle dog’s pain. Did this kind-hearted dog have to fight out on the streets just to survive, or did someone use him as a bait dog to train fighting dogs? Although no one will ever know for sure, Alfred’s short life has been a struggle. According to his medical intake notes, the American bulldog has extensive injuries:

“Pet presents for an evaluation of an injury – quiet, alert, responsive and euhydrated… he has multiple punctures, lacerations, scars and wounds in various stages of healing around the neck, head and ears. The wounds are infected and draining pus… Wounds were cleaned and treated with chlorohexidene. Administered Rimadyl..” alfred-the-dog

A PetHarbor link for Alfred can be found here. “I am an unaltered male, brown and white American Bulldog. The shelter staff think I am about 1 year and 6 months old. I have been at the shelter since Dec 17, 2016.” For more information about this animal, call Miami-Dade Animal Services at (305) 884-1101
