A rescue agency in Kansas City, Missouri, has taken in a pink puppy. On Wednesday, the rescue group, Wayside Waifs, posted a photo of the pink pup, whose fur has been dyed, along with a few words of explanation for Facebook followers:

Frenchy and her littermate came to Wayside looking for a second chance. Dyed pink, her fur and skin are stained. Please don’t dye your pets’ fur. Frenchy and her littermate are now safe.

Before arriving to the rescue agency, Frenchy and her litter mate had been running loose in a cemetery near I-35 in Cameron. Animal control was able to capture the pair and they were held for their mandatory stray hold period – nobody arrived to the facility to claim ownership.

According to KMBC News, the rescue agency has attempted to wash the pink coloring out of Frenchy’s fur, but the dye is not coming out. Both puppies will soon be made available for adoption. Find Wayside Waifs on Facebook here.
