A man’s puppy is missing following the theft of his truck, which was stolen from a parking lot in Broomfield, Colorado. On Sunday afternoon, Richard Ivy was enjoying a meal with his mom at the Benihana restaurant near Flatirons Crossing when someone drove away in his truck…the truck where his four-month-old chocolate Labrador retriever, “Tater,” was being held, reported ABC 7 Denver News.

Ivy had been checking on Tater every 20 minutes, but someone managed to steal the white Ford F-350 at some point between those check-ins. Ivy told ABC 7 that his puppy goes everywhere with him…to work, on rides…everywhere. In fact, Ivy doesn’t care about his missing truck, or his construction tools which were inside – he only wants his best friend, his constant companion, back.

The Broomfield Police are helping Ivy search for the missing puppy – Craigslist postings are being watched in case someone tries to sell, or give away, the puppy. Anyone who has information is asked to reach out to the authorities at 720-887-5282.

  1. A truck and tools can be replaced much easier than your best friend. I hope they find the worthless truck thief and Tater is found unharmed.

  2. I’m sure this won’t be a popular response, but Mr. Ivy, you should not be taking Tater with you EVERYWHERE you go. It’s too cold in the truck this time of year in Colorado. And at four months, Tater is probably not well trained enough to stay out of harm’s way. You mentioned construction tools…so Tater is undoubtedly with you on construction sites, which can be very dangerous. Not an “apples to apples” comparison, but a few years ago, a friend of mine had his dog with him on his job, which was tree trimming and felling. He ALWAYS took his dog with him. Unfortunately, on THAT day, a tree fell on his dog and broke both his hips. My friend didn’t have the couple of thousand dollars it would have taken for surgery, so he had to put his dog down. It was heartbreaking! Things can fall on a construction site, too. I URGE you to crate-train Tater and keep him at home when it’s cold, hot, or when you’re working. PRAYING that you get Tater back! And SOON! ???? ???? ????

  3. I am crying right now for you I pray the good Lord to bring him back to you in one piece didn’t you take your new truck that should have been over a hundred thousand times then another hundred thousand make sure he’s f****** in super pain
