A grievously wounded puppy, with injuries from being shot, was discovered with his paws frozen to a metal cage. According to Thursday’s WKBN News, humane agents made the disturbing find this week behind an abandoned house on East Avondale Avenue in Youngstown, Ohio.
The pit bull mix puppy, dubbed “Dunkin,” was suffering from hypothermia by the time that help arrived – in fact, his body temperature registered below 90-degrees. Someone had shot the malnourished puppy in his muzzle – he required surgery to help repair the damage from the bullet.
Despite the horrific injuries this 14-week-old puppy has endured, veterinarians believe that he should make a full recovery. Dunkin is currently in the care of Animal Charity of Ohio. The group is desperate for leads in this heinous case of animal cruelty.
Anyone with information is asked to reach out to Animal Charity’s humane division at 330-788-1064.
