A puppy suffered a cruel and untimely death after being dragged by a moving car in Calhoun County, South Carolina. According to Wednesday’s WLTX News, 66-year-old Rita Mintz is believed to be the driver of the Chevrolet that pulled the German shepherd puppy to his death last Friday.

A witness claims that the small puppy was attached to a rope which was hanging out the window of a Chevrolet car – the witness stated that the puppy tried to run for some time, but then he collapsed and fell, while the woman continued to drive along Kennerly Road.

The witness confronted the driver who allegedly stated, the the dog was a “good dog” but that he “tried to bite at the grandkids on occasion,”reported TandD News.

Rita Mintz was questioned by the authorities and admitted to the crime – she is charged with ill treatment of animals and has already been released from jail on a personal recognizance bond.
