Why would anyone intentionally paint a young two-year-old sweet shepherd pink? Looking closely, Bella has other colors staining her once white coat. Many think she may have been the painful target of a paintball game. Sadly, this friendly dog appears to have been another victim of animal cruelty left unchecked or reported.Pink shepherd

Bella was found on June 29 and is currently being kenneled at Dallas Animal Services in Texas. Her Pet Harbor listing can  be found here.  ID#A946338.
“My name is BELLA. I am a female, white German Shepherd Dog mix. The shelter staff think I am about 2 years and 1 month old. I have been at the shelter since Jun 29, 2016.” For more information about this animal, call Dallas Animal Services at (214) 670-6800.

A Facebook page advocating for Bella’s rescue or adoption can be followed by clicking here. Please share Bella’s plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives, and Bella deserves better than this.

Be the voice for those who cannot speak. Such treatment as what is suspected may have happened to Bella is animal cruelty. Don’t close your eyes; make a difference for other dogs who could also become victims of abuse.

Dallas Animal Services and Adoption Center Well, Cheryl, We were very saddened this morning to hear that their may have been a placement opportunity for this dog, but it was too late.
In this instance, the dog in question was impounded on 6/29 for a 10 day bite quarantine per State law. On 7/9 the microchip information identified an owner, whom we attempted to contact. On 7/26, the owner still had not responded, no notes indicated interest from anyone. The dog was aggressive and not suitable for our adoption program, so she was humanely euthanized.

Lucky Labs Rescue has not applied to be an authorized transfer partner, and no emails were received by [email protected] from any transfer partner in regard to this dog. Lucky Labs has been invited to apply to be an authorized transfer partner on multiple occassions, most recently May 9th.

Again, we are saddened at this news and invite Lucky Labs to apply as a transfer partner.
