It’s not as if there is a line at the door to adopt a senior Doberman pinscher, but Nino’s former family surrendered their loyal dog to the overcrowded Miami-Dade County Animal Services with barely a nod of regret. “They were moving.” And so it became the worst day of Nino’s life – the sweet, well-behaved dog waited and waited for his family to return or maybe someone to come along and love him. In the meantime, Nino cries and shivers in his kennel – since June 30th – never getting accustomed to being a “shelter dog no one seems to want.”

I just don’t understand the abandoning a loyal loving pet because you move.
If you buy a house the issue should not be there. Its your home.
If renting, many places, at least around my area, the landlord allows pets.
There are many nice homes for rent that dogs and cats are allowed and some do have pet deposits but, its usually a small fee.
I just don’t think moving is an excuse.
Diane, you are so right, moving is not an excuse but being heartless is I guess. These dogs have so much faith in humans and humans often let them down.
Yes the old “moving” excuse. I hope and pray Nino finds his way out and to a loving home. One where the people will love him and if they move will take him with them. I am so sick of people abandoning their older pets like this!
