Found as a stray, who can even imagine the extent of the pain, misery and neglect this 12-year-old senior Chi must have suffered in her life? The five pound Chihuahua was found roaming the streets searching for a scrape here and there  – just to survive. For this dog, being in a shelter where she is warm, safe and fed, having been picked up by Animal Control has been a streak of luck.

The special needs pooch is currently at OC Animal Care located in Orange, California. The brief description provided of this sad little senior’s life is as follows:

“Imagine what horrible conditions this senior must have been living in? 12 years old, very thin, masses, skin problems. She is a stray and will need a rescue very soon. 1. THIS IS A FROSTED FACES DOG IF I have ever seen one….. MY GOD why can’t CALIFORNIA START getting this sort of neglect and abuse under control…. WHEN I read this horrific mistreatment of a lovely little animal I think of INDIA< SOUTH AMERICA<AFRICIA< This SHOULD NOT!!!!AGAIN NOT be the every day ISSUE in the UNITED STATES!!!! OUR COUNTRY & ALL NOT JUST SOME of IT"S people should be above this type of horrific treatment of animals….

    • Why can’t California get this under control? I don’t know how familiar you are with California, but it’s a large and very populated state. What are your suggestions? You obviously must have some ideas. What are they? As sad as the problems if unwanted animals are, there is no way to stop the constant flow of dogs and puppies through the shelter system. Spaying and neutering needs to be mandatory but how can it be enforced? In case you haven’t heard, this country is in turmoil and unfortunately, pet overpopulation is not a priority. Again I ask, what are your suggestions? Or are you just venting?

      • NO I am NOT: since I don’t live in California but have visited there a couple times.. I can’t motor out on my Harley Trike and take the whole place over Now Can I.. I come from a far less populated state, but where I live use to be a High Kill shelter!!! GET it! NOW thanks to the community as a whole who are Astute Enough, have compassion and GUESS WHAT PRIDE, in the community !!! have made our shelter in the one in the town 35 miles away a “low KILL SHELTER” We also had a wonderful benefactor that moved into this area people contacted and presented a plan to … This person recently died but his wife carries on… They donated, still do to community matches.. Fund raisers, auction, chili dinners, walks with pets, .. Good Christ do I have to draw a graphic picture. I’t the PEOPLE, California Has INDUSTRIES , FILM , More STARS and ACTORS than any STATE in the UNION! WHO have MONEY TO BURN!!! ASK for help present a group… TAKE PHOTOS of CARSON< DOWNEY , SAN BERNADINO, give presentations, have adoptions where there is visibility and YES<<< ( just KIDDING SORT OF!) contact the LEGISLATION< the DUMB ass Governor there that allows the shelters to refuse to deal with out of state RESCUES SO THEY would RATHER KILL a DOG THAN LET A RESCUE COME IN FROM SAY COLORADO WYOMING >> MAKE it known to THE REPRESENTIVES and SENATOR”S of the STATE that IF THEY DON”T MAKE AN ATTEMPT TO MAKE THINGS BETTER IN THESE AREA”S THEY WILL BE VOTED OUT>>> HOW IS THIS FOR VENTING LADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ALSO involve the YOUTH OF THE STATE IN SOMETHING WONDERFUL AND POSITIVE and maybe this Will give them something other to do instead of maiming and burning the animals for fun and games…. NOW STICK THIS IN YOUR PIPE AND SMOKE IT!!!

      • I got so impassioned I FORGOT to mention : Why the hell is the HUMANE SOCIETY INTERNATIONAL USING donations many from US Citizens to BRING DOGS by the Thousands into the USA from China , Korea, Phillipines, WHEN we ARE EUTHANIZING USA DOGS by the thousands WHY BECAUSE THEY CAN”T find homes for them… Just like the PREGNANT DOG in OKLAHOMA KILLED her along with her unborn pups… BULL SHIT!!! I say this is NOT RIGHT!!! to kill our OWN and save overseas DOGS!!! Anybody who THIS OFFENDS I HOPE IT DOES!!!!!!!

      • Hi

My husband and I want to help this little treasure.

        We are in Northern CA.

If transportation can be arranged, we pledge to help.

      • I called the shelter & was told they were working with a rescue group.

I gave my name-# & asked to be contacted so we can help.

I have not heard from anyone…..

      • This IS the problem I have been harping about for at least 2 years… They would rather kill the dogs so in need of adoption than WORK with out of state rescues and individuals and NOW apparently Northern California must be a inconvenient for these people for these Southern California that are incongruent to deal with to say the least…. CALL And ASK for the MANAGER of the SHELTER ASAP before it is too late!!!!

      • Keep watching YOU will find a little one that really needs your help …. What about that scared little 8 year old male in Southern California Scared to death in his kennel…. He is a long haired black and white if you look back thru this weeks rescues …. he looks like a Chi mix…. Bless you both this Thanksgiving!!!

      • Bunny : Baldwin Animal Shelter LA too High kill shelter.. 2 year old female Chihuahua yellow named Theresa….. is in danger of being killed … look at her on the site …. she looks like she too really needs help in getting out alive… It may even be worth a trip down there….

  2. I followed up on this story. According to the Facebook listing, Rose was adopted by an Animal Control employee. She was found to be suffering from advanced cancer. She was euthanized and cremated. Her ashes are with her adopter.
A very sad story but at least she knew love and care before she passed away (& didn’t die alone, in pain, afraid and unloved)…….
