On Tuesday, a family’s lost dog was found wandering with duct-tape wrapped around his snout in Anchorage, Alaska. According to Wednesday’s KTVA 11 News, someone had wrapped red duct-tape tightly around the yellow Labrador retriever’s snout and tape was also found down the dog’s back.
The good Samaritan who found the dog snapped a few photos of the tape before removing it – now, the Anchorage Animal Care and Control (AACC) has started an investigation to see who is responsible for the cruel act.
The dog, who fortunately suffered no serious injuries from the tape, has already been returned to his owner; the dog’s owner was actively searching for the missing dog.
Anyone who has information about this case of cruelty is asked to reach out to the Anchorage Animal Care and Control at 907-343-8118. The agency would like to remind the public that if there is a “nuisance” dog causing problems, the appropriate response is to call animal control for help – rather than taking matters into your own hands.
