A Lake County, California man faces charges of felony animal cruelty after authorities accused him of killing his Chihuahua with a machete. According to WricNews, the Lakeport Police arrested William Richard Gatlyn, 27, on Tuesday morning after a telephone call that he had threatened to kill his dog and people with a machete.

When authorities arrived at the Lily Cove Apartments where Gatlyn lived, they found the man standing on the front steps of the building, As police entered his apartment, they found the tiny brown dog lying dead with a machete lying across its body. The dog had suffered deep multiple lacerations. No motive for killing his pet or threatening people has been reported, however Gatlyn was reported to have been uncooperative when arrested.

Gatlyn has a record of prior arrests for battery, burglary, public intoxication and being under the influence of a controlled substance.  He was booked into the Lake County Correctional Facility.

Hope the authorities lock this maniac up and lose the keys so he is forever in prison!!!

Serial killers start on animals….. he would eventually “graduate” to people…..

  2. Who gains ANYTHING by this monster remaining alive????? Live by the sword die by the sword……use the same weapon he used to kill that innocent animal……..i can only imagine what the poor little dog endured before he was killed…….p.o.s.
