Investigators fear dog arsonist is on the loose

Investigators with the Central California SPCA fear that a dog arsonist may be at work in and around the Fresno area. According to Friday’s ABC 30 News, late last week, the body of a burned dog was discovered at the corner of Walnut and Annadale – the dog’s body was still “sizzling” when found.

This isn’t the first horrific dog burning case – according to a prior publication from ABC 30 News, two dogs, tortured and burned alive, were found not far from the recent grim discovery, behind an abandoned house in September. Whoever dealt the horrific cruelty secured the dogs close to each other before torching them with butane fueled fires. In this first case of cruelty, area transients were initially suspected of being responsible for the cruel act – now that another burned dog has been found in the same general area, there are fears that a dog arsonist is seeking canine victims.

A reward has been offered for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible for burning these dogs. Anyone who has information which may help is asked to call the Central California SPCA. Click here to find the Central California SPCA complaint form.
