Who doesn’t love a heartwarming story? Especially if it involves an adorable dog…on Saturday, California’s Mountain View Police Department recounted the rescue of an adorable dog who had been abandoned in Sylvan Park.

The black and tan dog, appearing to be a Dachshund (mix?) had been abandoned in a wire cage which was littered with food and the dog’s feces. Fortunately, the dog’s “tail” did not end in the park…happily, there are no sad words about the dog’s body being found when it was “too late.”

Instead, the police department announced that the pup is destined for better things…

We brought the dog back to MVPD to be rinsed off, one of our dispatchers fell in love with him. So, she called the Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority and is now in the process of adopting this little guy!

Yes indeed – from abandoned and un-cared for, to wanted and loved. Happy days ahead little one, happy days ahead.

The police department offered a gentle reminder to anyone who might consider abandoning their pet:

We would like to take this opportunity to remind people that if you cannot care for your animal, please call animal control. Please, do not abandon your pet anywhere. If you have any questions, you can call SVACA at (408) 764-0344.
