In the bustling area of Houston, near the George Bush Intercontinental Airport, a heartless owner dumped three dogs out of a vehicle and drove away. Most likely the dogs had tried to find their way home, and when the black Labrador retriever wandered too close to the road, he was struck by an automobile. Fortunately, a Good Samaritan spotted the dogs and immediately reached out for help.
The injured dog, dubbed Clyde, curled up along the side of the road; blood poured out of his mouth and nose. Rescuers quickly contacted Jackie O’Sullivan, co-founder of Rescue Dogs Rock NYC asking for help.
“We were alerted to Clyde and could not let him suffer in pain. The other dogs with him are safe as well. Clyde has been rushed to our Texas veterinarian partner for life saving medical care,” stated Jackie. “Not only is he wounded with deep gashes and lacerations, he is running a high fever as well which could be shock related.”
Tragically, Clyde’s photos show how seriously he is injured, but he did survive the night, and although he is still listed in critical condition and running a high fever, he continues to fight for his life. The staff at the veterinary hospital describe Clyde as loving and sweet despite the pain he has had to endure.
