A four-year-old Boxer, barely able to walk because of a huge, ruptured tumor on his leg, strayed onto a man’s property in Dallas, Texas on Wednesday; the friendly dog posed no threat to anyone. Still the heartless man threatened to shoot if no one came for him.
Although the local shelter rushed to save the dog, low staff availability made it impossible to help the Boxer until the following day; meanwhile a miserable death loomed over the dog’s head. A plea, however was sent out by the shelter for help, and with the assistance of a Texas rescue organization, Rescue Dogs Rock NYC were able to step in and save a life in the nick of time. Now dubbed Humphrey, the Boxer with a baseball sized, ruptured and infected tumor on his front leg, was rushed to the organization’s partner veterinarians for life-saving medical care.
“Unfortunately his leg cannot be saved and will be amputated today . Right now his leg is first and foremost. He has not had the best life seeing one of his ears has been chopped in half, and his elbows are evidence of sleeping on hard surfaces,” described the organization’s co-founder Jackie O’Sullivan.
Humphrey is still young. Please help make his future brighter. Donations can be sent by clicking here. Pay pal:
