For over 120 days, a despondent dog has been held behind bars at the Carson Animal Services facility in Gardena, California. The dog, named “Dutchess,” arrived to the animal control facility on May 11 – though it is heartening that she has not been put down, it is heartbreaking to bear witness to her utter hopelessness after so many days behind bars.

On September 2, the Saving Carson Shelter Dogs Facebook page wrote:

After almost 120 Days in the Shelter she isn’t sure what to do when she is finally taken to the play area. She is pretty scared and unsure and she needs your help now to save her and help her feel safe and loved again. DUTCHESS is incredibly special. Please SHARE for her life, she is VERY special and a FOSTER or ADOPTER would save her. Thanks!

You can help end this heartbroken dog’s nightmare by taking a moment to network her information – sharing saves lives.

  1. YOU know for CARSON of all Shelter’s to keep a dog any length of time She must be special indeed!!! Why hasn’t one of those rescues ( that are always asking for donations for their cause) step up and help this sad! sad! deserving girl….. that is about her only chance, as people out there are far more vested in DUMPING CALIFORNIA dogs at shelters instead of adopting them!!!
