Senior dog homeless after hurricane

A hearing impaired senior dog was surrendered to an animal control agency in Fayetteville, North Carolina, after her family lost their home in Hurricane Matthew, The 10-year-old dog, named “Brandy,” is now homeless because she was not allowed at the temporary residence that her family moved to.

On November 2, the Facebook page, Friends of Cumberland Co, NC Shelter Animals, shared the Labrador retriever/beagle mix’s plight:

She is an owner surrender due to no fault of her own as her family of 10 years has been displaced due to hurricane Matthew and temporary housing will not allow Brandy to stay there. Poor baby must be so confused here being in a strange unfamiliar place and not being able to hear very well at that.

You can help this senior dog find a new family by taking a moment to network her adoption information. Brandy weighs 45 pounds. Shelter phone: 910-321-6852 Cumberland County Animal Shelter Fayetteville, NC

  1. If I was closer, I would foster her until her family gets a permanent home. I wish someone in North Carolina would step up and do that for this family and their poor dog.
