Gorgeous shepherd returned

A gorgeous German shepherd, adopted from the Carson Animal Services facility in 2015, was returned to the same shelter facility a year later. The dog, named “Glenda,” was adopted as a pup when she was just six months of age.

Earlier this week, the Saving Carson Shelter Dogs Facebook page explained,

In June 2015 she was 6 months old and had a beautiful life ahead of her is the right family would come along and adopt her… It’s September 2016 and she barely resembles that sweet, innocent baby and we almost thought it was a much older dog. She still has the most loving heart and she deserves another chance. Please SHARE for her life, she is VERY special and a FOSTER or ADOPTER would save her.

The people who originally adopted this lovely shepherd told the facility that she was no longer able to stay with them because they were unable to “afford” her care. They also indicated that she had been living as an outdoor dog.

Glenda needs to be taken in by a reputable rescue agency, or adopted to a German shepherd savvy home where she will be provided with the care, and training, that she needs. Please help Glenda find a home or rescuer by taking a moment to network her adoption information.

  1. And what is wrong with her that they can no longer “afford” her care? You don’t get a dog to have them live as an “outside” dog to begin with. German Shepherds are family dogs and need companionship! I hope Glenda finds her way out of there and gets the home she deserves.

    • I am offering to take the GSD puppy asap. I have a GSD and am very familiar with the breed. I have fenced in yard. Problem is your I’m California and I’m in Rhode Island. I also have the means to provide Glenda with the best bet care. Your organization will have to pay to ship her to me. I am very willing to take her and give her a wonderful life ful of love and ? thank you DAWN

  2. If you can help me I will do everything possible to get her to New England, either to a safe sanctuary or I will adopt as I am a very experienced GSD owner/handler. I am in the car and multitasking at the moment for the horror you reported on earlier in LA. Generating social media support and gathering resources. I would be most appreciative of any help. I am nt on FB only Twitter & WordPress.

  3. Damn them straight to hell. You do NOT adopt a dog to keep that dog outdoors!!!! What the hell is wrong with people? I wish the shelter would charge them with animal cruelty for failure to provide the proper care and vetting………

  4. Acquiring a dog is similar to having a child. YOU MUST ADULT. Part of the decision is figuring out who will take them IF… I just acquired a beautiful approx. 3 year old GSD. First I fostered and we decided to keep him when my first Cancer Screening after three rounds of chemo showed that chemo was working. Before we finalized, we checked to make sure our big hairy baby would have a good home if he outlives us, or we are unable physically to care for him. Absolutely a necessity.

  5. I have a 3 year old male shepherd. I’ve had two before him. If she’s good with other dogs, I’d love to adopt her. I’ve been with the SPCA for 5 years and several rescues if yu need references. I live in NC. Let me know please. Thank you, Susan

  6. ANYONE who is interested in adopting this beautiful dog PLEASE act Fast! Contact the shelter first to see what they require. Then put a hold on this sweetheart. For example, I live in PA so I would search for “Pennsylvania Transport” in the search box on Facebook. These pages are filled with people and organizations dedicated to moving and transporting animals to safety and given a second chance in life. ***PLEASE BE CAUTIONED, WARNED, AND PROCEED WITH CAUTION IF GOING WITH TRANSPORTS!!!! DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE HAND!!! It’s sad that we even have to say this, but there are people out there who don’t have these animals’ best interests at heart and can and will take, sell, giveaway, hurt, fight, torture and/or much more. So PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH on all rescues, shelters, organizations, and transports BEFORE putting the animal in that situation.*** With that being said, anyone who may need assistance in finding rescues in you're area, here is an extensive list by state. If you notice a rescue you're familiar with is not listed, please contact the administrators of the page to request it to be added to the list.
