Friendly pup returned to high kill shelter twice

A friendly pup has been returned to the Devore Animal Shelter in San Bernardino, California twice. Poor Klondike; within just a few days his luck seems to have gone from bad to worse. Sadly the first time the dog was adopted, he was returned because he played too hard with the adopters’ small dogs. How unfortunate, the dogs didn’t get ample time to adapt to each other. And when Klondike was adopted again, he was returned the next day; this time the landlord told his new owners the dog was too big, and they could not keep him.klondike-again

Three’s a charm. Who can adopt this neutered boy who is listed as a Chow Chow mix approximately one-year and three-months of age? Animal advocates can follow the dog’s Facebook page here. Please share this boy’s plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives, and the shelter is full. Additional information is available here.

looks like he is watching them leave,
so that would be my 1st questions in moving of what size animal is excepted if allowed. common sense way to go in breaking Klondike spirit. and to the 1st owners agree with the above, need more time for them to get acclimated etc.

I was the third adopter for my sweet Suki (she passed in April). She just wasn’t a good fit for the other two families, but she did end up with some abandonment issues when she came to me. ANY dog needs time to adjust. I really hope this sweet dog gets a third-time’s-a-charm happy ending like my Suki did. She was 1-1/2 years old when I adopted her, and she was with me for almost 14 years. When I adopt a furbaby, it’s forever (as it should be). Sharing with prayers.

        great news!
and thank you friends of freddy, middle island , long island NY. Whos picture peirced our soul. The pic. that captured the exact moment a loving animal s heart is broken when he knows he has just been thrown away. The second that confusion turns to panic turns to heart break. collectively
it stirred all of our souls into visulizing this happy outcome.this dog will never see the inside of a kill center ever again.
Thank you Barbara S. for all your good work.

You would’ve thought the 2 previous owners should have done their homework. Poor Klondike had his hopes up only to be disappointed…..twice.
