A senior dog in Ohio has been overlooked for a year-and-a-half. The 11-year-old dog, named “Bella,” has been living life in a kennel at the Animal Charity Humane Society.

According to WKBN News, the German shepherd mix first arrived to the shelter back in May 2015 – she had been so badly abused by her former owner that she was blind, missing most of her fur, and riddled with widespread infection. Today, Bella’s vision has been restored (with surgery and medication) and her infections have been treated, but she is still homeless and seemingly forgotten by potential adopters.

Animal Charity Board President Mary Louktold WKBN of the staff’s desire to see this deserving senior dog leave the shelter and join a family, “We would even be willing, if someone would foster her, we would keep her as one of our dogs and continue to pay for her medication and medical care. We just don’t want her in the kennel any longer, it’s not fair to her.”

Please help Bella find her way to a real home by taking a moment to share her adoption information.
