An emaciated dog, wrapped in a tarp and dumped by garbage, was discovered in New Haven, Connecticut, on Sunday. According to Super Paws Rescue Inc., the German shepherd mix, dubbed “Frank,” was found next to a dumpster by a friend of the rescue agency and he was rushed to a veterinarian for urgent care.
On the fundraiser created to help raise funds to treat the emaciated dog, a disturbing allegation about the reason for this dog being “thrown away” was shared with donors – the claim, outlining why the dog was tossed out with the garbage, reads:
The person caring for him claims he is not hers, that he belongs to a family member. She says he is 14-16 years old and developed arthritis and couldn’t walk, so they left him outside to die.
On Sunday, the rescue group updated Facebook followers that the skeletal dog may be stricken with cancer:
Frank may have cancer, we are not sure. Our private vet wants to see him to run tests and make a diagnosis.
Please keep him in your prayers.
