Vikram Chatwal, the high profile Manhattan, New York founder of the Dream, Night and Time boutique hotels, has been arrested on multiple charges for a bizarre dog burning incident which took place earlier this month. On Tuesday, TMZ broke the news that Chatwal had been arrested by New York police.
Chatwal was investigated after witnesses saw him allegedly attempt to set two Jack Russell terriers, who were being walked near his Manhattan apartment, on fire. At the time, the dogs were with 29-year-old Isabell Suquilanda, a dog walker. Shocked bystanders were able to intervene and the dogs suffered only minor injuries.
Shortly after the alleged attack, cellphone video was captured – in the video footage, Chatwal appears to be exhibiting bizarre behavior. At first, he repeatedly tries to apologize and then he begins to make comments which sound nonsensical.
After the authorities investigated the alleged dog burning incident, they opted to arrest Chatwal on multiple charges, including criminal mischief, torturing an animal, reckless endangerment and arson.
