After nearly 120 days at the Carson Animal Care Center, a six-year-old Dutch shepherd named Dutchess, has changed from an optimistic, tail wagging pooch eagerly awaiting the return of her family, to a scared and hesitant dog who needs the help of social media immediately to find a safe home.dutchess-at-carson

“My name is Dutchess and I am described as a spayed female, brown brindle and white German Shepherd Dog. The shelter thinks I am about 6 years old. I have been at the shelter since May 11, 2016.” For more information about this animal, call Los Angeles County Animal Control – Carson at (310) 523-9566. A Facebook page for this dog can be followed here.

For five years, Dutchess lived with her family and other dogs until one day she was surrendered to the shelter because the “other dogs in the home didn’t like her.” No one was there to witness what may have happened, but volunteers have stated Duchess is sweet, but timid and she very well may have been bullied by the other dogs. Sadly, instead of her family trying to deal with the problem, someone thought dumping her at the nearest shelter was the quickest solution. Advocates have pledged funds for an approved rescue organization willing to help this dog.

And now with over 3,000 shares, Dutchess still has no home, and every kennel at the shelter is full. dutchess-at-carson-2

“Dutchess loves to be with people and children and deserves a chance to have a loving home. You can see the hurt in her eyes and just wants someone to take her home,” stated one of the Facebook comments.

Share Dutchess’ plight with friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives. Make sure to watch her video as she moves from hope to helpless; so true of the dogs sadly left behind.

  1. So the dog lived there 5 years and all of the sudden the other dogs don’t like her? Did they get a new dog that didn’t like her? More than likely, just an excuse! Guess what, I have a Beagle that came to live with us and didn’t like the German Shepherds in the family. Guess what she is still here, we worked through it. I wouldn’t call them best of friends but they live together and even play. I hope Dutchess finds her way out of Carson, not a place any dog should be.

  2. Subhumans are heartless and cruel. Maybe if this sicko POS would think how would they feel if they were left behind when they were a baby because they urinated in their pants, were too much work, interfered with their lifestyle or another baby came would they like it. Sick sorry scumbags who can do this. Hope they have a short miserable and painful future.
