A dog rescued from a hoarding situation is longing to have a new home. The middle-aged (6-8 years of age) Labrador retriever mix, named “Leelah,” is in the care of the Lee County Animal Shelter in Bishopville, South Carolina.
The shelter hopes to see Leelah in a home for Christmas – in a Facebook post, Leelah’s past is explained:
Leelah arrived at the shelter back in September after her dad was hospitalized. It was soon discovered that Leelah’s dad was hoarding animals and their were over 120 on his property. These babies have had a pretty rough life, and are hoping for a second chance.
Leelah is described as a sweet, albeit shy, girl who enjoys the company (and comfort) of other dogs. Leelah has never known what it’s like to be a beloved house dog – please share her information and help make that dream a reality.
