A viral Facebook photo of a gray and white dog nearly beaten to death and left lying in a pool of blood on Friday night, quickly led to the pup’s rescue. Now Animal Control and neighbors are asking for the public’s help finding the person responsible for the heinous attack.

According to KtlaNews, the pit bull mix was found by local resident, Joe Rodriquez who witnessed a man beating the dog with what he thought was a baseball bat. The suspect then fled the scene, reportedly driving a white Toyota Tundra. The dog had been left tied with a red rope to a home in front of Chatsworth Drive and Stanwin Avenue.

Along with neighbor Joaquin Expinoza, the men called police and Los Angeles Animal Services. The dog was immediately transferred to the East Valley Animal Shelter where he is said to be recovering. Now let’s help authorities find the culprit who mercilessly beat this dog and left him on the sidewalk to suffer. Anyone with information is asked to call Animal Control at 818.756.9323.
