A dog named “Ned,” has been homeless for over 830 days…though Ned is alive, and his basic needs are being met, it has been a tremendously long time since he has been a true member of a family.
Ned is being cared for by the non-profit, no-kill rescue agency, It Takes A Village Canine Rescue, which wants to see this deserving dog with a family for Christmas. On December 15, the rescue group created a Facebook post for the long-time resident of the shelter:
835 days! That is how long I’ve been waiting for a forever home! Why doesn’t anyone want me? I’m a good dog. Yes, I might have a little energy, but that just means I will help you with a New Years resolution to stay active and take me for walks! I’m living at the ITV Rescue Center. Come see me! Ask for Ned! I’m sponsored!!
The post generated a great deal of attention for Ned – in fact, he even had a potential adopter. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out. On Thursday, the rescue agency wrote:
NED UPDATE: We are overwhelmed with the showing of support for our beloved Ned. Unfortunately, the adoption meeting tonight did not work out for Ned. Ned is a high energy dog so that is why he is having difficulty finding him a home. Ned needs an active family who can take him on daily walks or runs, as well as give him a place to run and play. Thank you to everyone for sharing him. We will continue our search for the right fit for him.

There has to be someone that appreciates a high energy dog I have five and marvel at their capacity to amaze me if they are allowed to run free they wind down they are devoted and wouldn’t have it any other way it takes an active individual to have this special animal calling on high energy individuals to come to the rescue of Ned Home For Xmas ????????????????????
If I was in better health I would take him. I have a high school field across. would that help?
How about a home for Christmas anyone??
Call Michael Philip Dick. I believe they applied and they are perfect for this dog. He is on FB and they are waiting!!!!
On pet finder it says he was adopted. Has he really been adopted?
