On Monday, the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office, in Virginia, reached out to the public for help in a disturbing case of animal cruelty which took place at a residence in late July. According to a release from the Sheriff’s Office, at some point in time between late July 27 and early July 28, someone entered a home in the 7900 Block of Gum Neck Landing Road and killed the homeowner’s pet dog.
According to the release, the dog, whose breed was not identified, was decapitated. The Sheriff’s Office stated, “. A necropsy was performed on the dog and the case is under investigation. Nothing else in the residence was disturbed or stolen.”
At this point in time, while the investigation remains ongoing, no further details about the cruel incident are being released.
