One of the most recent arrivals to the Miami-Dade Animal Care Center, is a young Lab named Momo. Today she still shivers in fear. Less than a week ago, she had been curled up on the couch at home, but today is a different and much more tragic story. Today she visually shakes in her cage and appears totally lost after her family surrendered her. A shelter volunteer, Kai Rohrer, reacted to Momo’s heartbreaking plight:kai-rohrer-2

“As I walked past her cage, I noticed how scared and confused she is. Yesterday she could still roll up on the couch with her owner; now she’s stuck in a stainless steel cage at the shelter. This is the holiday season, a time when families celebrate together. Why is it then that so many of man’s ‘best friends’ are dumped like unwanted furniture this month? Do they not deserve to spend Christmas with their families? You’ll find Momo and many other surrendered dogs at Miami Dade Animal Services, 3599 NW 79th Ave , Doral FL.”

A Facebook page for Momo can be followed here or here. Her PetHarbor listing states: #A1832933. “I am a spayed female, white and tan Labrador Retriever mix. The shelter staff think I am about 1 year and 1 month old. I have been at the shelter since Nov 29, 2016.” For more information about this animal, call:
Miami-Dade Animal Services at (305) 884-1101.

According to the young Lab’s posted veterinary evaluation, she came into the shelter covered with ticks. She has since been treated, micro chipped and administered heart worm preventative. This gal is ready to go home. Share her plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives.

  1. She looks like a sweetheart. WTF is wrong with people? I don’t understand how you can dump a family member? Well, I guess it’s because the POS doesn’t consider her to be a family member.
