A bold dog-napping was caught on surveillance video in Washington, DC. According to Thursday’s NBC Washington News, though the dog-napping took place back in mid-October, the surveillance video showing the suspects was just released today.

According to the police,  the theft took place on the 100 block of Elmira Street SW on the night of Saturday, October 15. Two suspects can been seen walking outside of a chain-link fence with another dog. The puppy inside of the fenced yard is a four-month-old golden retriever.

After the pup jumps on up the fence, one person reaches over the fencing and picks the puppy up out of the resident’s yard before walking away. Fox 5 News reports that the owner of the puppy indicated that the puppy was outside in the yard for a short time to play – when the person went back outside to bring the puppy in, he realized that the puppy was gone.

Anyone with information about the two individuals in the surveillance video, or about the stolen puppy, is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099 or text their tip to the Metropolitan Police Department’s text tip line at 50411. A reward has been offered for the puppy’s safe return.
