One doesn’t have to be rich to love and care for their dogs. Sadly, it’s very difficult to comprehend how two bonded senior dogs could be surrendered to the high kill San Bernardino Shelter in California by their owner with nary an explanation nor a plan to help them. And now a blind dog and his seeing-eye friend need a new home – a place where they will feel safe and loved.
The two dogs with great temperaments and are closely bonded, arrived on Friday; they need each other and “a big hearted forever foster” to help Boscoriel, the ten-year-old, blind male German shepherd mix and Rheixaghahgnon, his seeing-eye friend – the female, 13-year-old Golden retriever. Shelter volunteers were shocked:
“I kid you not; they were deliberately put is this full kill shelter by their owner today. One is the eyes for the other...MUST BE SAVED TOGETHER! The clock is ticking…owner surrenders are available immediately.
Who does this?,” wrote volunteer Joelle Stonebraker on Facebook as she posted the dogs’ photos asking for help.
An additional Facebook page for these two dogs can be followed here. Please share the plight of these two special needs seniors with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives, and every life counts.
