For well over a month, a seven-year-old pit bull mix has been held in a kennel run at the Carson Animal Services facility in California. The dog, dubbed “Sophie,” is not doing well in her stark kennel, in fact, she seems to have lost hope of ever walking free.
On Saturday morning, the Saving Carson Shelter Dogs Facebook page wrote a desperate plea on behalf of the homeless dog:
Sophie is a beautiful soul but she has slowly started to shut down as her spirit has been breaking. She has waited so long for her family to come for her and it looks like they changed their mind and they are not coming back. She has been in the Shelter too long and she is URGENT!
Sophie has no reason to be hopeful – she has been held at this facility since mid-June. She has given up hope that anyone that she knows will approach her kennel and open the door to set her free. She has given up hope that she will ever hear the voice of a person who is familiar to her.
Please help this hopeless soul find her way to a safe and loving home by taking a moment to network her adoption information.
