Another Christmas will come and go for homeless dog

Another Christmas is fast approaching for a homeless dog who is waiting for a family of her own. The pit bull mix, named “Uma,” is at the New Hampshire SPCA, where she has been waiting for a year.

On October 12, the shelter wrote of the homeless dog’s sad situation, “From her window in her adoption pod she’s watched over 360 dogs of all ages, breeds and temperaments leave our shelter with their new families. As difficult as it must be to be overlooked again and again, our Uma still looks out with hopeful eyes and a wagging tail.”

Halloween came and went, as did Thanksgiving and soon, the next big holiday will be nothing but a nearly forgotten whisper. Unless something dramatic changes, Uma will still be sitting in her adoption pod, waiting for her own family to take her home.

Uma’s adoption profile outlines her sweet personality, and her special adoption restrictions:

She’s a peach of a dog. She’s a Pittie mix who is about six and a half years old. It’s true that Uma has to go to a special, dedicated home: no dogs, no cats and adults only. But what a lucky home it will be. Uma has personality plus! She loves going on walks and she loves to stop on those walks and roll on her back while you give her belly rubs. Uma loves her treats, loves the pool and, most especially, loves love.
