Moving out of the area has become a much too common excuse for surrendering dogs to high kill shelters. On August 2, three beautiful family dogs were dumped at the Baldwin Animal Care Center. Pet owners are warned that their once beloved canine friends  can be euthanized at anytime, and are given the option to reconsider, yet they often just turn their backs as the brokenhearted are left behind staring in confusion. Baldwin Park August 3

The family surrendering was moving and cannot take. The girl very young and very pregnant can’t take care of the dogs anymore. So now they are alone and afraid. The Chihuahuas are so cute every one wanted them. The 10 month old lab was so confused. They had no idea what they were in store for,” commented shelter volunteer Sal Valdepena.

  1. This IS JUST a Pathetic Scene of these 3 beautiful young animals that WILL have a 99% chance of not making it out of the Death TRAP of Baldwin. Their owners didn’t even bother to ALTER their pets and probably planned to breed them to make a few Bucks!!!! The people that did this to these poor little dogs ARE SOULESS nest their kids will be dropped off and left too! I sincerely HOPE a rescue will give the # a chance but know there is a slim chance because of the total over population of this breed!!!! I feel at such a LOSS for them all!

  2. 3 dogs, none spayed or neutered. Did she not know 8 months ago that she did not have a stable housing situation that she got a puppy? Gee, I was 22, I had a 3 year old, was pregnant, a single parent who worked, and still was able to take care of a dog. She should not be having a human. She is not mature or responsible enough.

  3. all 3 dogs are cute and sweet looking.i hope they find good homes soon.family was not thinking.the 3 dogs was support to be treated like they human kids are.the 3 dogs was they kids.

  4. They have one thing going for them getting adopted quickly and that is they are young, but even in a high kill shelter i just don’t know. I wish these babies were in tampa! I would go get them out now!! People can be so heartless.

  5. Where I live they simply dump them on the side of the road. A pit bull that killed all my chickens, 2 long haired chihuahuas, one already dead hit by car, the other I coy, don’t catch also dead two hours later. My friend found two boxes of puppies dumped. Someone dumped two barely weaned puppies, I didn’t see them but heard shout them. I live near the s um of the earth!

    • OMG: how tragic…… I work in a rural area and POS asswipes dump unwanted pets (mostly cats) near us all the time….. we try to catch them and take them to the local shelter (if we cannot rehome them to people we know ourselves)…… we have had ~90% rehome rate with the dogs & ~20% rehome rate with the cats…..
99% of the time small dogs who are dumped do not survive……. I have a “soft spot for the small dogs & it’s totally heartbreaking to find the little dogs dead…… Each time, I cry for days…..
I cannot understand why those who cannot keep their pets dump them vs. taking them to a shelter where they can be rehomed or have a “humane death”……. (hit by car, shot by POS asswipe human, starvation, untreated illness, killed by snake, killed by bird of prey, killed by mountain lion are NOT “humane deaths”)……
I know that there is a special place in Hell reserved for POS asswipes who dump pets (knowing they won’t have a chance to survive)…… where these POS asswipes will burn forever for their cruelty…… I just hope they get to Hell ASAP after suffering the same agonizing deaths they inflicted on their “trusting to the end” loving pets……
