Someone without a conscience abandoned a two-month-old puppy in Dallas, Texas. Sadly, the defenseless little pooch had already been losing his fight to survive – with large patches of his coat missing and a compromised immune system because there was barely any food to be found, it wouldn’t have been long before he succumbed to starvation, illness or predators.
Whether it was pure luck or fate, on Saturday the spunky little guy followed a dirt path pounded out by so many stray dogs before him and simply walked up to rescuers who had been in the area searching for another dog.
“He was quickly picked up and taken to the car. Throughout the ride, he stayed calm, rewarding everyone with kisses just during the right moments, knowing this was a street dog epidemic and he survived. Mickey is strong but he cannot fight off diseases puppies are vulnerable to; today his body has started declining and he is urgently needing donations for emergency care,” stated Stacey Silverstein, co founder of Rescue Dogs Rock NYC, the organization stepping up to help this little fellow.
Dubbed Mickey by his rescuers, the puppy is now under the care of the organization’s partner veterinarians. It is not known whether Mickey has been diagnosed with Parvo, however his battle to live continues. To help with this puppy’s medical care, donations can be made by clicking here.
