It’s almost impossible to imagine anyone surrendering their 16-year-old Chi to an overcrowded, high kill shelter and walking away without a second thought, but apparently that heartbreaking situation happened to tiny Goosh on December 3, 2016 at the Downey Animal Care Center in California.

Click here for Goosh’s Los Angeles County adoption listing information. #A1323941. “My name is Goosh and I’m an approximately 16 years, 4 month old male chihuahua long haired.  I am already neutered.  I have been at the Downey Animal Care Center since December 3, 2016.  I will be available on December 5, 2016.  You can visit me at my temporary home at D439.” Contact Downey Animal Care Center at (562) 940-6898.goosh-2

According to animal advocate and frequent volunteer Sal Valdepena, who was at the shelter on Sunday afternoon giving the shelter dogs much needed attention, new beds and blankets recently donated by generous advocates, Goosh is very friendly although he is scared and confused. How does anyone explain to a terrified little senior his whole world has changed? Share Goosh’s plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives.
