Update: Safe – adopted!
A 13-year-old Cocker spaniel spent her last Christmas at the only home she ever knew. On December 26, her family surrendered her to the Carson Animal Care Center – removed her collar and leash and walked away; the last words they muttered to Brandy were “bad girl.”
Click here for Brandy’s PetHarbor listing. “My name is Brandy and I am described as a spayed female, brown and tan Cocker Spaniel. The shelter thinks I am about 13 years old. I have been at the shelter since Dec 26, 2016.” For more information about this animal, call Los Angeles County Animal Control – Carson at (310) 523-9566. Ask for information about animal ID number A5021452. A Facebook page for Brandy can be followed here as advocates share the senior’s plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Funds are being pledged for an approved organization’s expenses.
Sadly, this senior is not doing well in the shelter, and her sadness has everyone worried. Dogs are not disposable trash when they get old – please don’t become a pet parent without making a lifetime commitment to your furry friend. Too many senior dogs wind up in shelters because of irresponsible owners.
