13-year-old ‘Brandy’ surrendered for being a ‘bad girl’

Update: Safe – adopted!

A 13-year-old Cocker spaniel spent her last Christmas at the only home she ever knew. On December 26, her family surrendered her to the Carson Animal Care Center – removed her collar and leash and walked away; the last words they muttered to Brandy were “bad girl.”

Click here for Brandy’s PetHarbor listing. “My name is Brandy and I am described as a spayed female, brown and tan Cocker Spaniel. The shelter thinks I am about 13 years old. I have been at the shelter since Dec 26, 2016.” For more information about this animal, call Los Angeles County Animal Control – Carson at (310) 523-9566. Ask for information about animal ID number A5021452. A Facebook page for Brandy can be followed here as advocates share the senior’s plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Funds are being pledged for an approved organization’s expenses.

Sadly, this senior is not doing well in the shelter, and her sadness has everyone worried. Dogs are not disposable trash when they get old – please don’t become a pet parent without making a lifetime commitment to your furry friend. Too many senior dogs wind up in shelters because of irresponsible owners.

C*nty f**king humans have done it again, why even bother to get a pet if this is how you’re going to treat them. I can only hope that they didn’t have ‘guardianship’ of this beautiful baby girl for long so as she wouldn’t be mourning 13 years of loss with a family she once trusted and loved. She may indeed have dodged a bullet *IF* she can find a new and loving family. No way was this dog ever bad in any true sense, I’d bet money on it!

What on earth could 13 year old Brandy have done that would warrant a “Bad Girl” and trip to Carson Animal Control the day after Christmas. I pray she finds her way into a loving home to live out the rest of her days and I hope her POS owners never find a day’s peace after what they have done.

After 13 years they decided she was a “bad girl”? Something doesn’t add up. Brandy I’m so sorry. Your owners are heartless.

Bande d’irresponsable.

“Bad girl” after 13 years??? Seniors are SO easy to care for. Sure, they might have an accident now and again but wait until you’re the equivalent of her age. I hope Brandy can find a good retirement home where she can de-stress and live the rest of her life without any fear.

The family who had her whole life and to disguard her over saying bad girl is not good for tha family name should be on a list so they can’t never get another pet ,,,,,,,throwing your Pet away is very wrong this is why other people in the world thinking the same thing VERY WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE bring her to Vancouver. BC Canada and she will find a forever family that cares for Her

I hope the children of this couple throw them, like trash, into a filthy nursing home when they get old, because they are bad doggie parents. Shame on these people. Karma will get you!

Poor sweet little Brandy. I only wish I lived close to this precious little girl because I would adopt her in a heart. I absolutely love older dogs and she would have such a good and loving home with me and my cats that love all dogs. Can you please tell me where she is and whether she is safe.
Thank you and please make sure she is living with a foster home and not euthanized.

she reminded him how heartless and lothsome a human he is.
She did nothing. A thirteen dog knows how to live with humans. she is a good girl.
and now she belongs to good people.
