Get ready for the tears to stream down your face when you meet this gentle senior who doesn’t belong in a shelter – much less the Carson Animal Care where conditions are crowded and older dogs don’t get much attention. Brought in as a stray on September 1, this beautiful Golden Retriever will be available for adoption on Labor Day.

Click here for his Pet Harbor listing. #ID A4988905. “I am described as a neutered male, gold Labrador Retriever. The shelter thinks I am about 11 years old. I have been at the shelter since Sep 01, 2016.” For more information about this animal, call Los Angeles County Animal Control – Carson at (310) 523-9566. A Facebook page for this dog can be found here.

Volunteers from Saving Carson Shelter Dogs who have met this boy have this to write:

“It’s not easy to visit with this beautiful guy without feeling so incredibly sad for him. He is struggling, he’s confused, uncomfortable and he just wants to go home. He needs help now! Get ready for your heart to break when you see this very special guy. He is incredible with the most beautiful energy, but he is stiff, his ears have fly bites pretty bad, and he is pretty nervous and confused about all of this today.”

Sadly, he does have trouble getting up -perhaps arthritis, and he will need a thorough veterinary evaluation. Please share this boy’s plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives. For more information, contact the Carson Shelter located at 216 Victoria Street, Gardena, California. Phone: 310.523.9566.
