Two young dogs surrendered to the Harris County Animal Shelter because they were “too big,” may suffer the consequences of an irresponsible owner. On Thursday, Baby Girl and Rocky were ushered into separate kennels because neither of them had been spayed or neutered.

A shelter volunteer told their story:

“Sweet timid Baby Girl was brought to the shelter by her owner with another male sibling named Rocky who is in another kennel…Owner says both are TOO BIG. I guess his mother didn’t get rid of him or her if got too big or maybe too ugly? …”

Sweet, timid Rocky is also at the shelter. Both he and BabyGirl have tested positive for heartworms. Both dogs may have just been left outdoors and neglected – never given preventative doses of heartworm medication.
