A homeless puppy, fostered through the Humane Society of Northern Utah, disappeared on July 31. She was recently recovered and she has unimaginable injuries. On Wednesday evening, the animal shelter detailed the painfully long list of injuries the pup diagnosed with after being taken to a veterinarian:
We rushed her to the ER and her condition has shocked everyone involved. She has a fractured skull and neurological damage including blindness and concussions with a hematoma. Both sides of her jaw broken. Too many fractures on her ribs to count and bruised lungs. Both legs severely broken. Every open wound is infected because she couldn’t use the bathroom other than on herself.
Despite the overwhelming physical trauma, the shelter has stated that the pup is “responding to treatment.” They are hopeful that she can recuperate.
The animal welfare agency is facing daunting veterinary expenses and has asked for help, writing:
we’re now waiting to get her well enough to fix anything and getting input from specialists as well as results from the numerous tests we must run. We are asking for help covering the costs of this sweet, innocent girl’s recovery.

The person responsible for the puppy’s injuries has been charged. Because it is an open investigation, the shelter is unable to share any further details.
