A dog tried to chase his owner’s car after having been abandoned by the person he trusted on Monday evening. The Chesterfield Police in Chesterfield County, Virginia are asking for the public’s help identifying the person who heartlessly pushed his dog out of the vehicle and sped away.

The disturbing incident occurred about 4:50 a.m. outside of the Chesterfield County Animal Shelter located on Public Works Road. Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspect’s gold Toyota 4Runner (early 2000 model). The unknown person could be seen taking the German shepherd mix out of the vehicle.

The three-year-old dog is in good health and currently at the Chesterfield County Animal Shelter. He is not available for adoption at this time.

Anyone with information about who abandoned this dog should contact Chesterfield County Police at 804-748-1251, Chesterfield County Animal Services at 804-748-1683 or Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers at 804-748-0660 or through the p3 app.
