A beloved kangaroo, known for his impressive muscles and bucket-crushing skills, has passed away. Roger lived at The Kangaroo Sanctuary in Australia and on Saturday, the refuge announced his death:
Farewell our darling Roger ❤️
Sadly Roger has passed away of old age. He lived a lovely long life and was loved by millions around the world. We will always love you and miss you Roger ❤️
Roger made it to 12 years of age – a few days before his death, a regal photo was taken of him relaxing before a meal. The sanctuary wrote:
The last photo of Roger we took was just a few days before he passed. He was relaxing before a big feed. 💕
Thank you everyone for your beautiful messages about Roger. He was so well loved by you all ❤️
Roger the famous kangaroo
Roger garnered a great deal of attention after photos of his beefy muscles were circulated on social media.
Earlier this year, a video of Roger was posted to the Sanctuary’s Facebook page.
“He’s an old guy now, but he’s still looking pretty good in the upper body.”
