He’s just a little guy with a tragic story. As his collar seems to have been removed and replaced by nothing more than a rope tied around his neck, a three-year-old Chihuahua will be very lucky if he finds his way out of the front door of the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center in California.

Click here for this little one’s adoption listing.  #A4999572. “I don’t have a name yet and I’m an approximately 3 year old male chihuahua sh.  I am not yet neutered.  I have been at the Baldwin Animal Care Center since October 4, 2016.  I will be available on October 8, 2016.  You can visit me at my temporary home at B210.” A Facebook page for this dog can be followed here as advocates share his story with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts.

Volunteers who have met this dog state he is extremely sweet – even during the stress of this heartbreaking situation.

Chihuahuas like him struggle to leave the shelter system Alive… Why? Because he’s not a tiny Chihuahua, he’s not a puppy, and he’s in an area that dumps dogs by the bus loads. So let’s help him beat the odds,” states  the Chi’s advocate Sal Valdepena. “Something about seeing a dog brought to a shelter just destroys me.”

To help this proud little pooch, contact the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center located at 4275 N. Elton Street in Baldwin Park, California. Call (626)962.3577.

    • On the animal rescues website the animal id doesn’t work. I’m looking into it further to see if this is fraud. However, I’m from Toronto, Canada but I’m willing to donate money to get him into a forever home. If the person wants to whatsapp or facechat or some kind of web cam after that with the dog I’ll donate further. If you want, contact me via email at [email protected] or on Facebook. I linked this comment to my fb account.

I’m a bit suspicious as it says the animal id is invalid but like I said I’m looking now.

      • I just spoke with the shelter. Milton is still available for adoption there is no hold placed on him yet. He will be euthanized on the 22nd if not adopted. They won’t let me put a hold on him from out of state.

  1. I can’t believe that we are donating to your kill shelter and how long will that buy these poor dogs? You have ropes around so many dogs no matter the age. How can I request a dog if I live in Texas?

    • I just called the pound and they said nobody has put a hold on him yet, I tried, but they would not let me place a hold on him from out of state.

  2. Has he been adopted yet? I notice a lot of people willing to give him a forever home. I heard of a program where truck drivers will transport rescued animals for free across country. It’s called “Operation Roger”.

  3. I just spoke with the Baldwin shelter. “Milton” is still available for adoption. There were two people interested but nobody has put a hold on him yet. He will be euthanized on the 22nd of this month if he’s not adopted. Unfortunately, I could not put a hold on him from out of state.
